Guest Lecture on "What Corporate Wants"

The event started with introduction of the speaker and bouquet presentation to the guest. Students had a very interactive session with the speaker who shared his corporate experience. In his talks he emphasized the importance of MARKETING in corporate world with his live examples. The lecture started around 10:45 am and ended around 12:00 noon. The lecture concluded with memento presentation to the guest and vote of thanks.

Report on Guest Lecture on "Changing Marketing Paradigm on 22 March 2017"

Department of BBA had organized a Guest Lecture on "Changing Marketing Paradigm" for the students to understand the dynamism of Marketing Paradigm in the context of modern businesses at JEMTEC, Greater Noida. The lecture was delivered by Mr. RICHARD JOHN MASILAMANI, Ex- CEO, TIMEX Watches. He is a Mechanical Engineer from University of Madras and also the Alumni of IIM Ahmedabad. As CEO he has 30 years experience spanning the fertilizer, automobile, food and consumer electronics industry. In 70s he joined the Tata Administrative Service-the elite cadre of the Tata group of companies and performed in core Companies including Telco, and Voltas, and in two Tata Group joint ventures which featured Pepsico of the U.S. - one of the world's most admired companies. The speaker was welcomed by Dr. AK Chaturvedi, Dean-BBA/BCA with a bouquet. In his lecture Mr. Masilamani discussed the various marketing strategies across various industries. The beauty of the lecture was it started with the fundamentals of marketing and then touched some useful aspects in relation to technology. His concept of segmentation-starting from one point expanding to various branches and then reuniting- all with the advent of technology was something that everyone loved. Approximately 100 students of BBA and Faculty members attended the session with curiosity and enjoyed it thoroughly. They interacted with the speaker and asked various questions. At the end vote of thanks was given by Dr. Arun Kr. Singh- HoD-BBA Department and the session ended with a memento presentation to the guest.

Indemnity and Guarantee

A guest lecture was organised on 'Indemnity and Guarantee' on 20th February, 2017 at JEMTEC School of Law. Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Geetha, Dean, School of Law, faculty members and BALLB II Semester and BBALLB II Semester students attended the program.The Speaker Mr. Chandy Oommen is an eminent lawyer practising in the Supreme Court of India, is also an academician who is an expert in Law of Contract. The students of BA LLB and BBA LLB, School of Law, had the privilege to be addressed on the principles and relevant laws relating to Indian Contract Act. The Eminent Speaker delivered the lecture enlightening the students with the legal principles related to Indemnity, Guarantee and Rights of Surety. The lecture was substantiated greatly through a plethora of illustrations and involved active student guest interaction. The distinction between Indemnity and Guarantee was explained through a video which was highly informative. After the lecture, students were given an opportunity to put their queries to speaker.

Plea bargaining- A New Development in the Criminal Justice System in India

A guest lecture was organised on 12.1.17 on 'Plea bargaining- A New Development in the Criminal Justice System in India' on 12th January, 2017 at JEMTEC School of Law. Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Geetha, Dean, School of Law, Dr. Pallavi Gupta HOD, faculty members and BALLB VI Semester, BALLB IV Semester and BBALLB IV Semester students were attended the program.An eminent scholar of repute, Dr, Prof. S.C. Raina, honourable Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU had addressed the students. The students were enthralled and encouraged by the welcome note delivered by the Dean, School of Law, JIMS, Dr. Prof. K.K. Geetha. She encouraged students to be active learners and value the opportunity of understanding the legal concept of plea bargaining through the medium of effective listening and concentration. The eminent guest of honour, Prof. Dr. S.C. Raina, delivered the lecture with an opening note of motivating the students to grasp knowledge and appreciate the learning of a law school curriculum. Further he enlightened the students with the core concept of plea bargaining and its related aspects. He actively engaged students by focusing on the comparative analysis of the concept being prevalent in the United States and in India. The lecture was substantiated greatly through a plethora of illustrations and involved active student guest interaction. After the lecture, students were especially given an opportunity to put their queries to the guest of honour. It was a highly enriching experience for one and all. The lecture was concluded by a Vote of thanks, delivered by the Head of the Department, School of Law, Dr. Prof. Pallavi Gupta. She expressed her gratitude to the guest and acknowledged his benign presence amongst the students for such an informative session.

International Law: New World Order and Challenges

A guest lecture was organised on 'International Law: New World Order and Challenges' Saturday, 21st January, 2017 at JEMTEC School of Law by MS. Anuradha Bakshi, Principal Legal Officer, Asian African Consultative Organization. Mr.Ajay Kumar the subject teacher, faculty members and BALLB VI Semester, BALLB IV Semester and BBALLB IV Semester students were attended the program.Ms Bakshi started the Guest lecture with the introduction of AALCO as an Institution and the role AALCO plays in development of International Law. She also talked about Terrorism and International Law, Cyber Space under International Law, Environmental Laws (UNCLOS) and International Law and Refugees and International Law. Ms Bakshi deliberated on various current issues under aforesaid lecture starting from Violent Extremism to Terrorism, Common Heritage to Common Concern under CBD, Refugees, Non Refoulement and Cyber space. It was an enriching session. The lecture was concluded by a Vote of thanks.

VITTIYA  SAKSHARTA ABHIYAN (VISAKA) –JEMTEC  campaigns to promote Digital  Economy

With an aim to promote and create awareness about Digital Economy, the students of JEMTEC were addressed by Mr Pratyush Gaur, Manager E- Commerce, HDFC Bank and Mr Agnivesh, Relation Manager, HDFC Bank on 10.01.2017 in the Seminar Hall JEMTEC Greater Noida. Campus Director Dr RK Raghuvanshi also addressed the students and told them the importance of Cashless transactions. The experts explained the procedure of Digital payment, it’s advantages and how this user friendly mode of payment could be adopted by everyone, the students in the process could take up the responsibility to act as volunteers and encourage others to switch over to Digital Payment.The interactive session have questions pertaining to security of Digital Cash and in case a person looses his E-wallet etc. The students were immensely benefited from the session

Guest lecture on 'The Indian Arbitration Law- The Challenges and Approach towards International Commercial Arbitration'

A Special lecture was organised on 28th October, 2016 at JEMTEC School of Law. Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Geetha, Dean, School of Law, Dr. Pallavi Gupta HOD, faculty members and third year students of B.A. L.L.B. were attended the program. Mr.Raghav Sabarwal, Associate, Jyoti Sagar Associates, a distinguished lawyer enlightened the students about the practical difficulties faced by freshly minted advocates in the field of arbitration and based it upon his own experiences. The problems in the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 2015 were carefully picked apart and students were taught to avoid the pitfalls common to such things.

Mr. Sabharwal also spoke, with great effect, to the students about the role of mediators and etched it into permanence by presiding over a mock mediation session. The mock mediation session was highly informative and interactive to the students.

Guest Lecture on 'Cyber Crimes- Challenges and Contemporary Issues’

A Special lecture on “Cyber crimes- Challenges and Contemporary issues” was organised on 6th October, 2016 at JEMTEC School of Law. Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Geetha, Dean, School of Law, Dr. Pallavi Gupta HOD, faculty members and second year students of B.A. L.L.B. and B.B.A. L.L.B. were attended the program. Mr.Shyam Padman, a distinguished lawyer and academician enlightened the students about the evolution and nature of law, the influence of technological development in crime and its effect on society, the effectiveness of the provisions of Information Technology Act, 2000 to tackle cyber crimes, consequences of cyber crimes and various judgments on cyber crimes from India and foreign jurisdictions. The legal acumen of the resource person intellectually enriched the students and the interactive session was highly appreciable.

Guest Lecture on 'Importance of Legal Method'

A guest lecture was organised on 'Importance of Legal Method' on 4th October, 2016 at JEMTEC School of Law. Prof. (Dr.) K.K. Geetha, Dean, School of Law, Dr. Pallavi Gupta HOD, faculty members and first year students of B.A. L.L.B. and B.B.A. L.L.B. were attended the program. The distinguished Prof. (Dr.) S.C.Srivastava addressed the students by discussing the significance of Legal Method and the reason for its inclusion in the law curriculum. He stressed upon critical thinking and the formative aspects of studying law as a discipline and explained the inductive and deductive methods of studying. Further the various methodologies to approach the subject were highlighted. It was an intellectual and enriching session for the students as well as the faculty members.

Guest Lecture on 'Wireless Communication'

A guest lecture on wireless communication was organized by ECE department on 16-09-2016 in the campus seminar hall. Mr. Abhigyan, Specialist – Network Engineeing from Ericsson addressed the students. He covered Evolution of the wireless communication, Technology details of 1G, 2G, 2.5G, 3G, 3.9G, 4G…., Limitations and up-gradation of the different Generation, Concept of 5G and beyond.The guest also interacted with students and apprised them the Job prospects in this field. The session was started with a welcome note delivered by Ms. Bhawna Sachdeva and the vote of thank by Mr. Ajay Sharma.

Guest Lecture on 'Realization Of Importance Of Electronics And Electrical Engineering In Present Scenario'

The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has organized a Guest Lecture on 04th OCT 2016 for 2nd & 3rd Year ECE and EE students on the topic “Realization Of Importance Of Electronics And Electrical Engineering In Present Scenario” in the after noon session from 1.35 pm to 4:30 pm. The Guest Speaker for the day was Mr. GURJIT SINGH, Retd. Senior Deputy General Manager , Bharat Electronics Limited, Ghaziabad,U.P. He earned his B.Tech from Thapar Institute Of Engineering and Technology Patiala in the year 1978. Ms. Rajni, B.Tech 3rd year (Electrical Engineering) welcome the Chief Guest and introduced to the gathering.

The Guest speaker Mr. Gurjit Singh told the audience that it is his passion to deliver such talks and said that his maximum duration of talk extempore had been for 6 hours. So said that he shall not take less than 2 hours and those who want to stay for 1 hour can go after 1 hour but challenged the audience that nobody will be able to leave because the talk is so interactive and lively that u will not when 2 hours are passed. It happened the same way and everybody was glued to their seats and were very eagerly with pleasure were listening and interacting.

The main aim of the speaker was to create a hunger and desire for getting in love with their studies and day in day out search for something new and interact with faculty with an aim to get expertise in the chosen fields.

Guest Lecture on 'Bridging the Gap between Academia and the Industry'

A Guest Lecture was organized for the students of Mechanical Engineering Department on 30th August 2016 in the seminar hall of JIMTEC Campus, Greater Noida on the topic "Bridging the Gap between Academia and the Industry. The students of 2nd Year, 3rd Year and 4th Year of Mechanical Engineering attended the lecture. The faculty (Guest Speaker) for the session wasMr.Parimal Priyadarshi, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur and the Founder of Brainstorming Labs LLP, Bangalore. He has over 15 years of experience in Aerospace R&D sector. He has worked on some complex problems involving Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics

The session started with a welcome address by Ms Twinkle Buddha, a 3rd Year ME student followed by an introductory lecture by Dr D Jha, HOD (ME) and Dean (Academics). The guest speaker, Mr. Parimal Priyadarshi started his talk with the basic concepts of engineering subjects like Fluid Mechanics, Thermal Science and some software like Solid Works, CATIA etc. He also elaborated the current scenario and opportunities in the field of FEA, CFD etc. He highlighted on the following topics.

  • Current employment statistics of Engineering graduates in India
  • Opportunities in Aero and Mechanical industry
  • Recent technologies being used in Industry
  • How to excel in the field of 3-D Modeling, Finite Element Analysis and Computational Fluid Dynamics to fetch a satisfying job.

He also discussed the concept of Stress Analysis and its importance in our daily life by citing several examples such as swing of a cricket ball, design and fabrication of cycle helmet, design of spoiler of a car etc. There was an overwhelming response from the students and the session was quite interactive. The faculties of the department also participated in the discussion with the guest faculty.

Guest Lecture on 'Career Opportunities & Skill Requirements'

A Guest Lecture on "Career Opportunities & Skill requirements" was organized by Training & Placement Department for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, & Electronics and Communication Engineering Students. Ms. Priya Negi of B.Tech Civil Engineering 3rd year introduced the Guest Speaker Mr. Randip Ghosh (Head Business Development L&T-Sargent & Lundy Ltd.). Mr. Ghosh Did his B.Tech from NIT Patna (Gold Medalist) and M.Tech. (Structural Engineering) from IIT-Kharagpur. He is having more than 25 years of Industrial experience. At the starting of session Mr. Ghosh asked what students expect from this lecture. Then students raised some queries regarding their career. Mr. Ghosh focused on current scenario of market. He emphasized the present market demand, skills requirement, opportunities available in the market for an engineer etc. He also briefed how one makes him/herself industry ready, how they compete with other institute of repute. The lecture was ended by vote of thanks by Mr. Mohit Kumar B.Tech final year student. The lecture was attended by Ms. Sushmita (Head T&P) Dr. Shiv Kumar, HOD Civil Engineering, Dr. R. K. Rajotiya, Prof. S. Padmanabhan, Mr. Sabir Khan, Mr. Kamal Kumar Pandey, Mr. Akhilesh Singh, Ms. Akanksha Singh, Mr. Lalit Kumar & Mr. Ajay Kaushik. The lecture has proven to be very inspiring and informative for the students.

Guest Lecture on 'Forensic Science & Questiones Documents'

A Guest lecture programme was organised on Finger Expert and Questioned Documents by JEMTEC school of Law on 31-08-2015. Programme was started with welcome of the guest Prof. V.C. Misra (visiting Faculty and senior advocate of Forensic Science) and his team member- Akash Chauhan- Finger Expert and Private Detective.

Prof. V.C. Misra delivered a speech on importance of Forensic Science in criminal law and shared his views on questioned documents. During his deliberation he emphasised on how a handwriting expert can identify a forged signature (disguised signature) and forged documents. As fingerprint can be very important evidence in identifying a criminal, Prof.Misra showed some practical activities on collecting and identifying fingerprints by using sweat of a student.

Guest Lecture on 'How to Choose a Right Career '

The session started with the presentation of bouquet and welcome speech by the Campus Director Dr. Ranjan Malik. The lecture delivered by Mr Lal was focused on how to choose a right career and the qualities like smart and hard work, required to retain job in the industry. He also emphasized on the importance of ‘TIPS’ i.e. Team Work, Integrity, Passion and Speed. These essential principles create foundation for the smooth functioning of any corporate environment. He also gave a brief glance of values and corporate culture at Moser Baer.

The session was very motivational and interactive. At the end of the session Mr. Lal answerd the queries of the students. The Director Dr. Vikas Chaddha, Director-BBA/BCA closed the session with the presentation of memento and vote of thanks.
