Industrial Visit to Coca- Cola

School of Law JEMTEC had organized an Industrial Visit to Coca- Cola (Moon Beverages Pvt. Ltd.) on 11th April 2017 for BBA LLB IV Semester students accompanied by Faculty members, Dr. Rashi Gupta & Dr. Rumi Ahmed. Mr. Saurabh Singh, HR Team & Marketing Manager, Coco Cola was the resource person for the programme. BBA LLB is a course which is meant not only for the theoretical learning inside the classrooms but its sole objective is to have realistic edge with all basic management& law aspects. The motto behind industrial visit to Coca- Cola HAPPINESS FACTORY, Greater Noida was providing the students a practical experience about the real life corporate world. During the visit the students acknowledged the various processes involved in the manufacturing of wide variety of drinks. HR Team made students aware of the history of the company in sophisticated manner and later at the end they conducted a quiz in which 5 students won pen drives. They were taken through the vault which showed the highly automated production zone. Among other attractions were Selfie Corner, Santa Corner, X Box Zone, CSR projects in the museum, Coke Studio. Overall, it was a highly learning & enjoyable session for our students.

Industrial Visit to MOTHER DAIRY, Patparganj

School of Law JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus, Greater Noida organized an Industrial visit to Mother Dairy (near Patparganj, Delhi) as per PSDA curriculum of Marketing Management on 12th April, 2017 for BBA LLB II Semester students accompanied by two faculty members Ms. Deepshikha Gupta and Dr. Kumar Ashutosh. About Mother Dairy: Mother Dairy was commissioned in 1974 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB). It was an initiative under Operation Flood, the world's biggest dairy development program launched to make India a milk sufficient nation. Over the years, Mother Dairy has contributed significantly in achieving this objective through a series of innovations and programs. Today, Mother Dairy manufactures markets & sells milk and milk products including cultured products, ice creams, paneer and ghee under the Mother Dairy brand. The Company also has a diversified portfolio with products in edible oils, fruits & vegetables, frozen vegetables, pulses, processed food like fruit juices, jams, etc. to meet the daily requirements of every household. Learning Outcome: Industrial Visit is one of the things that are organized for the students to tap the gap of academics and industry. The main aim is to go beyond academics in all possible ways; these visits offer insights to students about the practical applications of their theoretical Knowledge. Tour Briefings: Students in two batches were taken to Mother Dairy. The students visited the plant located at Patparganj in New Delhi; it is around 3.8 acres and employs around 700 workers in this location. Students were given a brief introduction about the company by Mr. Ashok and Mr. Michael Jose where they explained procurement, standardization and distribution of milk to various outlets. This was followed by a documentary film. Milk and Ice Cream is the main product the plant deals in. More than 10 lakh litres of milk and 20 thousand litres of Ice creams are stored, transported in and out daily. Students were told of the processes which are generally undertaken before the milk is packed into poly-bags and why is loose milk better than milk in polybags. The complete plant is automated and computerized right from entry to exit of the milk. No use of manual techniques in the whole process results in "high hygiene and quality". After the processing, the milk is stored in 12 silos with a capacity of 1 lakh litre each. The milk is stored at a temperature of 3 degree C and then it is filled in the tanks and transported to various booths. Then the students were taken for the visit of the plant and shown the processing area, silos and how things are done automatically.

Report- Visit to NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling) on 11.04.2017

A visit to National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) at NOIDA Sec-62 was organized by Dr. Tandra Sharma & Ms. Raisa Khan on 11th April 2017 for the 2nd year B.Ed. students of Jagannath Institute of Education, Greater Noida. The whole event was organized in two important sessions to enable the students to understand the role of the apex organization, NIOS in Curriculum Planning Development & Implementation. The first session commenced with an exhibition of learning materials followed by a warm welcome speech by Dr. C. Dharuman, Secretary, NIOS. Prof. C.B. Sharma, Chairman, NIOS addressed the students of JIE focusing on the journey of the Institute, as NIOS is credited to be the largest open school in the world with a significant popularity in the common wealth countries and in certain other developing and developed countries. His enriching and inspiring speech laid emphasis on role of the teachers in today's world. A presentation was given by Dr. Rajesh Sharma, (Director, Academic) covering all aspects of vision, mission, objectives, historical background, function and roles of NIOS. Students were familiarized with all the vocational, life enrichment and community oriented courses at secondary and senior secondary level. The second interactive session was headed by Dr. Sandhya Kumar (Deputy Director Academic). Dr. S.K. Prasad and Dr. Mamta Srivastava (Deputy Director, Vocational Planning). Dr. Sandhya Kumar focused on development of curriculum and self learning materials. Dr. Mamta Srivastava emphasized on the various vocational courses available, ICT initiation, collaboration with stake holders and Universities. Dr. S.K. Prasad focused on ICT and Media intervention, online courses (NIOS virtual Open Schooling), introduction of Mooc's at Secondary & Senior Secondary level. He also threw light on Talking Books in DIASY Format (Course materials) for the learners who are visually impaired and also mentioned the milestones achieved by NIOS, OER projects (Open Educational Resources) etc. The Seminar concluded with an Open House Discussion where students got a platform to sort out their queries for further clarification. The success stories of NIOS was an eye opener. It was indeed an enriching experience for the students and Faculty members.

Visit to CIET-NCERT

A visit to CIET-NCERT was organized by Prof. (Dr.) Tandra Sharma, JIE, JEMTEC, Greater Noida for the 1st year B.Ed. Students on 28/02/2017 accompanied by Mr. Niyaz Varis & Ms. Neha Goyal. Dr. Aerum Khan & Dr. Archana of CIE welcomed all the students and teachers of Jagannath Institute of Education (JIE) to the Chacha Nehru of Bhawan 2nd floor room no. 202, CIET Division. Dr. Aerum Khan very elaborately stated the objectives of NCERT and focused on the Repository of Open Educational Resources (NROER), an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Govt. of India and CIET-NCERT to bring together all digital and digitisable resources across all stages if school Education and Teacher Education. The resources include text books, audios, and videos, images (Photography, Charts and Maps) interactive objects. Dr. Aerum Khan briefed about eLibrary- which is a collection of different types of resources like documents, images, and audio, video, interactive objects etc. eBooks- Where books and resource books of NCERT are digitized in to ePub 3.0 and flipbook version and everyone can access these books. eCourses- This repository provides platform for Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and online forums for different stakeholders. Events & Partner Showcase- Where states, Institutes or an individual can contribute e-Resources as partners to the repository. Dr. Arvind Gupta an IIT-ian is an individual partner in NROER. His contribution can be available in Teaching with Trash, Toys from Trash in www.arvindguptatoys.com. Students were also exposed / made aware of the various success stories in ICT. Themes- Open Educational Resources mapped to school curricular. At present, the themes are from 09 subjects namely, Mathematics, Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, History, Political Science & Economics. Each subject has a list of concepts. The digital India Campaign has promoted extensive use of ICTs in the teaching learning process. The e-Pathshala has been developed-- features are eBooks, eResources, Curricular Resources Teaching Instructions, Periodicals, learning outcomes etc. It also comes in a Mobile app. classified material for students, teachers, educators & parents are available. The students were also made aware of MOOCS on SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active learning for Young Aspiring Minds). SWAYAM seeks to bridge the digital divide for students who have hitherto remained untouched by the digital revolution and have not been able to join the mainstream of knowledge economy. Central Institute of Educational Technology, NCERT is developing MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) for the subject of Education. A learner can earn certificate / credits on successful completion of any course on SWAYAM. The B.Ed. students also came to know about the various transmission services like "Tarang" on National channel for children of secondary classes and teachers. SWAYAM PRABHA telecasts high quality educational programmes on 24 x7 basis. The students also visited the Technical facilities in CIET which has two audio studios and two video studios with state of the art post production facilities and they were thoroughly briefed about the working of these studios. Laying emphasis on ICT & NCF2005, courses available for teachers & students (from class VI – VIII & Class IX - XII) through blended & face to face mode was also highlighted. Students were also suggested to visit the You Tube NCERT – the official channel of NCERT where lessons / videos on various subjects by experts are available. This will be of great help in the internship during 3rd semester. After this enriching and interactive session Mr. Pramod Sharma from the Puppetry Division took the charge. He explained the importance of puppetry in the teaching learning and asked few students of B.Ed. to enact a play with the puppets he already made available. Mr. Pramod helped students to make puppets and use it as an teaching aid. This visit to NCERT was of immense importance for the Pupil Teachers as well as the Teacher Educators. They were exposed to the recent developments & trends in teaching learning. VISIT TO NSE

The students of BBA IVth Semester have got the opportunity to have a visit to National Stock Exchange, New Delhi on 16th March, 2017. Dr. Shikha Jalota and Dr. Sanjeev Punia accompanied the students of BBA IVth Semester. There was a two hours session conducted by Mr. Kunal Tyagi and Mr. Karan Kapoor which was a knowledge enhancing and informative session for the students. The session talked about the basic understanding of how the stock exchanges works, its basic terminology, how can one be a smart investor and above all with the help of some live examples it was explained to the students that how the trading takes place practically. The students also showed their interest and tried to clear their doubts regarding the theoretical and practical functioning of the stock exchanges. The students were also showed the transformation of the working of stock exchanges from floor based trading to online trading.The session in charge Mr. Karan Kapoor also made the students aware about the NCFM (NSE Certification in Financial Market) Courses and their modules. They also told the students about the benefits of pursuing the certification courses and the value addition it makes to their notability.

Students were given a brief introduction about the company by Mr. Amit Sharma where he explained procurement, packaging and quality control of various ayurveda products. Then the students were taken for the visit of the plant and shown the processing area, filling area and how things are done automatically. After the students had a first hand exposure of the various processes, tea snacks were given to the students. Knowledge and fun were the ingredients of the day!

Industrial Visit to Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT)

The School of Law organized visit to Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) for students of BALLB & BBA LLB IV Semester students on 21st Feb, 2017 and 7th March, 2017.They were divided into group of 10 students and allocated Courts at various floors. The students had the opportunity to see and understand the adjudication in the CAT. Mr. Ajay Kumar, Ms Rumi Ahmed and Mr. Zia Mustaffa Ansari were the accompanying faculties from School of Law to felicitate the Visit and maintain the decor within and outside the CAT.

INDUSTRIAL TRAINING in HUAWEI, Gurgaon (Haryana) on February 16, 2017

The students of 6th and 8th Sem of the Department were taken on an industrial visit to HUAWEI, Gurgaon (Haryana) on February 16, 2017. Two faculties of the Department were with the students, namely, Mr. Ajay Sharma (Associate Professor) and Mr. Sankhayan Chakrabarty (Assistant Professor). First of all, the officials of Huawei welcomed us and we were given an introduction about the Company and some details by Ms. Malvika, Senior HR Manager, followed by a technical session conducted by Mr. Mehboob Khan. After the technical session, the students visited the laboratories which consisted of the BTS, BSC, MSC, HLR and VLR. The officials also showed how all the equipments are connected together.After the laboratory visit was over, the students were made aware of how they can inculculate themselves in Huawei by undergoing some short term training programmes. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Mr. Atul, a senior official of Huawei.

Industrial visit to NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) on 2ND February 2017

Department of BBA, JIMS Engineering Management Technical Campus, Greater Noida organized an Industrial visit to NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) on 2ND February 2017. Mr. Vikram Kumar Sharma, Dr. Kumar Ashutosh, Mrs. Renu Yadav, Ms. Silky Gaur and Ms. Swati Sharma, accompanied a total of 78 students of BBA-II semester. About NSIC: National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC) is a PSU established by the Government of India in 1955 which falls under Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME). One of the programs being implemented by NSIC is to create self-employment opportunities by imparting training in entrepreneurship building to the people who want to set up new small business enterprises in any of the manufacturing / services sectors or seek employment opportunities. For this purpose, NSIC has started a new initiative by entering into franchisee arrangements with private partners interested for setting up of Training-cum-Incubation Centers (NSIC-TIC) at various locations across the country under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode. NSIC has already set up more than 90 NSIC-TICs under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode in the country. Learning Outcome: This industrial visit was organized with an objective of disseminating entrepreneurship skills among students and creating awareness amongst them to adopt entrepreneurship as a career option. The trip gave students an exposure to all areas of business operations such as business skills development, identification of appropriate technology, hands on experience on working projects, project/product selection, and opportunity guidance including commercial aspects of business. The students were introduced to the varied enterprises they can take right after graduating instead of searching for jobs only. The program made participants familiar about role and importance of MSMEs in Indian Economy, process of setting up of Enterprise, preparing Project Reports, Identifying marketing possibilities as well as with the issues regarding various statutory requirements such as Income Tax, VAT. Tour Briefings: The complete program was of 5 hour duration which included a brief about starting a New Business and dissemination of information about NSIC Programs & Schemes by Mr. Alam followed by the visit to Incubator for understanding the operations of different machines, their production capacity, marketing strategies, supply chain management and opportunities in the market. A very informative session was taken by Mr. Abdul Khader on Preparing Project Report. They also discussed about different Models of Incubation for setting up new business enterprises, continuing with understanding about different machines, their production capacity, marketing strategies, operation, supply chain management and opportunities available in the market. Taking the program further, there were movies and presentation on NSIC Corporate & Incubation Program, followed by Refreshment.

Visit to Advance Level Telecom Training Center (ALTTC) at Ghaziabad

Students of Electrical Engineering (3rd year and 4th year) and Electronics and Communication Engineering visited the Advance Level Telecom Training Center (ALTTC) at Ghaziabad on 14-Oct-2016. They visited many laboratories over there, some of them are:

  5. 33 KV sub-station

Visit to Renewable Energy India Expo

An industrial visit to Renewable Energy India Expo was organized on 09 September 2016 for the benefit of the students of the ECE and EE branch. 50 students of the department along with 5 faculties visited the expo and got benefitted.

Main Features of Expo were:

  1. More than 200 manufacturer and distributors across the world had gathered under one roof.
  2. Solar applications products were exhibited

Students and the faculties interacted with a number of executives of various companies. They could then find the difficulty of communication with people of different countries. Chinese accent was different than Japanese, and so was with Germans. They realized the importance of communication and need to improve in that area. Correction to our students in this area is recommended to be provided. Students also learned :
1. The introduction to recent trends and developments in Renewable energy sector to the students.
2. Prospects of renewable energy in Indian power sector.
3. Inspection of variety of tool and equipments been used all over the world for renewable energy plants.

Visit to NMRC Site

Industrial visit was carried out at NMRC Site, near Shafipur Village located at Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Greater Noid, Gautam Buddha Nagar on 6th September 2016 especially for 4th year civil engineering students. Mr. Kamal Kumar Pandey (Assistant Professor) and Mr. Rishipal Chaudhary (Lab Staff) along with Civil Engineering students left the campus at 10:00 am and reached there by 10:30 am. As soon as they reached company they were welcomed by Mr. Ashutosh Shukla (Site Engineer). The main objective behind the visit was to make students aware about how various processes involved in concrete manufacturing. The Ready Mix Concrete plant in NMRC is managed by Lafarge India Ltd. They are providing concrete to cast pier and precast members without compromising the quality. Mr. Ashutosh Shukla and his team shared some important information of concrete manufacturing & showed the latest French Technology involved in RMC. He also briefed that Lafarge is one of the leading group facilitate more than 1000 projects across the world. All students were quite satisfied and happy with this industrial exposure.

Visit to Anmol Bakers Pvt. Ltd

Students of BBA LLB (Second Semester) of JEMTEC School of law, Greater Noida, had an opportunity to experience the manufacturing of Anmol Biscuits in Anmol Bakers Pvt. Ltd 5th April 2016. Forty students were taken for this industrial visit along with two faculty members- Ms. Swati Kaushal (Law) and Mr Ashish Saxena (BBA). Students arrived at 11:30 am in factory and were divided in the groups of two. Each group was accompanied by an official person of the factory.

Firstly, students were taken to the storage area of the factory where the dough is converted into a sheet which goes to the cutting press through a conveyer belt, any misshaped biscuit is rejected automatically. All the leftover dough is re-used, there's no wastage. Then these shaped raw biscuits are sent into a huge oven, which are baked for 10 minutes. After getting baked, the biscuits are checked through ultra-sensitive metal detector, any amount of metal detected in any biscuit is rejected.

The baking process of a variety of biscuits such as; Glucose biscuits, butter biscuits and cream biscuits were also shown to the students. After that they were taken to the packaging area, where all the printing and packing of the biscuits was done. The plastic sheets are ordered by 3rd party dealers, these are printed with manufacturing date, and batch number if any mistake is made, Anmol biscuit Pvt. Ltd. has washing units which cleans the wrong dates or printed batch number, there is no wastage. And at the end, we were taken to the laboratory where we were informed about quality control checks of the biscuits.

It was a great learning experience for the students as they learnt about Anmol’s product range, marketing strategies, quality assurance, distribution channels, market share in the food industry and production process. Anmol offers its customers a wide variety of biscuits in various tempting flavors suiting all tastes. Hygiene and least wastage was a primary concern in Anmol. To maintain a germ free, harmless, quality food product, Anmol initiates lots of innovations and experiments. The manufacturing units have been equipped with the latest modern machineries available in India, which facilitate in manufacturing uniform quality of biscuits. The Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the Hazard Analysis of Critical Control Points (HACCP) are adapted at the plants, along with the use of sophisticated packing machines and materials, ensure that each and every biscuit manufactured never fails to delight the customers with its taste and freshness. The quality control tests are done at every stage of biscuit-making, i.e., inspection of raw materials, processing and post-production goods by qualified personnel in well-equipped laboratories.
